There are many important elements when decorating any room in your home: a piece of furniture, lights, a painting ... and of course, a good rug. Now, there is always the most feared question when buying a rug: "... and if my rug is stained, what do I have to do?"
The most important thing of all is to understand that a rug is to be used and the more you use the nicer they are. If you do many dinners in your living room, do not be afraid of the crumbs of bread, if your children play on top of it, do not be afraid of being stepped on more than usual, for that you have bought it. Of course, when used, you have to clean them and keep them in good condition. Not only do they pick up odors, they are a more than ideal setting for the dreaded mites to occupy and for allergies to appear.
What can we do to keep them in good condition?
There are many tips that can give you but, since Zigler, we think it is best to vacuum him regularly and if you have some kind of small spot the magic formula is: warm water, neutral soap and a trickle of ammonia (but not a lot). Then dry it outdoors and you will see how all your problems are solved.
How should I do it?
The first thing we will do is heat the water. It must not be boiling. It is enough that it is hot, but without getting to burn. Add the ammonia, being careful not to splash, and take the mixture to a spray bottle. The next step is very simple: spray the entire rug with this content, then use a brush and carefully scrub the entire surface. You do not need to dry it or pass the vacuum: you will only have to open the windows and let the fresh air dry them. You will see how they shine and how they smell clean.
Stains do not come out, what should I do?
Logically, depending on the type of stain your carpet has, you will need some care or others. If the stain does not come out, get in touch with any rug store (our commercial service in Madrid province) that will pick up the rug at your home, clean it by hand and install it again. Be careful with dry cleaners, cleaning is usually done with very powerful machines and can ruin your rug. We recommend always leaving it in the hands of specialized services. At Zigler we move to your home to perform a free trial so you can see how our rugs would look on your stay, and we also install the anti-slip felt.
